The Mighty River

Our arrogance grows thick as does the fog,
We begin to think we may be lost in it forever,
But only because we move forward without help.

Our pride rises like a tower,
Giving us the thought that we can see much more,
But our sight is still confined within the clouds.

Our faith falters like the crashes of the earth,
We then run fast to recover, only to stumble again,
Slowly learning that only rock keeps us from falling.

Our minds fail just as anything else,
But unlike anything else, we cannot insure our minds,
Therefore we must build on the rock as much as possible.

Our lives continue on the same as a young river does,
Conforming to the terrain and being pushed every direction,
Unlike the mighty river which creates its own path.

Arrogance and pride,
Faith controlled by our minds,
All determine the lives we live,
Until we begin to live as the mighty river does.
